Maker Education is a student-centered approach to education that has its foundation in Constructivist Learning Theory. Students are given autonomy to be makers, inventors, creators, and changers. In a makerspace, students have materials to build projects that require them to apply learned skills. This approach to education is revolutionary and gives students power to be contributors to their communities and changers in the world.
In CEP 811 this week, I created an Infographic using Piktochart.com. My topic of choice was Maker Education. My purpose was to educate and encourage teachers about Maker Education. I wanted to convey the benefits of this approach and why it is important in preparing students for the future.
